What was your first purchase?

My first fish was a yellow tail blue damsel to test the waters after the cycle. I eventually traded him back to the LFS. I will never put another damsel in my tank! My first coral was most likely given to me by my brother-in-law who was experienced and has never steered me wrong with corals, but I cant remember what it was. Most likely zoas or mushrooms.

Long time ago, first saltwater livestock I bought was a $60 huge piece of live rock. It had a single button polyp on it. :)

First fish was a beautiful butterfly fish not too long after. Amazing fish.

My mom bought the next purchase which was a yellow tang (without my knowledge). It had killed the butterfly fish within hours. Poor fish had huge scratches all over it body. :(

My first fish was a yellow tail damsel named cletus. I thought I needed a starter fish before I got nicer ones. But he's still one of my favorites. And my first coral was armor of gods and candy apple reds zoas. I did a lot of research before the coral purchases. And all are still thriving after almost 3 years :-) no regrets here.

I bought a green sinularia frag on accident. I pointed to the girl at the pet store what coral I wanted and walked away. She put the sinularia in the bag instead of whatever I told her I wanted. I didn't even realize corals needed light and such back then. I still have it today and now I won't get rid of it since it was my first coral.

See that tiny nub in the sand? Lol, my first tank.

My first fish purchase back in the day was a mean little Domino Damsel. Later, when my tank was established I bought some Zoos but ended up losing them because of a tank crash. : (

Those were the only corals I ever dabbled in.

A couple of oci clowns and coral is an elegance coral - still quite recent ( 4 months ago for the fishes - 3 for the coral) butnall are doing well!

Hmmm, my first fish was some damsels. My first corals were some zoas and mushrooms.

First fish back in the 1980's was a blue damsel and there were no corals back then. First fish in my current tank (2006) was a mandarin after it had been set up for eight months and was well established with pods. The first corals were three Kenya Trees that came with the rock I bought from an established tank break down.

I remember carrying my first frag - a kenya tree - over from the neighbors house, treating it like gold, and checking on it 5 times a day. That's was years ago and I still haven't gotten all of it out my tank :) Next I got some pulsing xenia and remember tearing the system down to catch a damsel that was nipping at it.....those were the days.

A sailfin tang he was a lil under 2" now he's about 6". Wouldn't sell him for anything.!!

Way way back in 1986, Blue Damsels, Three Strip Damsels and a Condy anemone. Man I just thought my tank was so beautiful with it's undergravel filter and coral skeletons.
