What worked for your aiptasia?

Peppermint shrimp (two in a Red Sea reefer 170) absolutely eradicated mine. I had hundreds in there. It took a few months.

Personally, my peppermint shrimp (I got 2) are aces. They ate the ____ out of my aiptasia, leave my softies alone, and I've not had any issues. BUT to be fair, I searched around town at 4 different LFS until I found the exact species of shrimp I wanted/read up on that was successful.

To date, my Peppermints are delights to have in the tank. Still dancing around, and when I target feed my nem, duncan, goby, etc they waits for their turn and latch onto the turkey baster

Would you mind sharing the exact species of Peppermints I need to be buying to go after my horrific aiptaisa infestation.

I have had good luck with peppermints, but other have not. I also had good luck with an aptasia eating file fish, others have not.

Note that there are a few varieties of "peppermint shrimp" some will eat aptasia and other will not.

What particular species of Peppermint shrimp should I be looking to buy? Did you find yours online?

Would you mind sharing the exact species of Peppermints I need to be buying to go after my horrific aiptaisa infestation.

I'm pretty sure I have Lysmata boggessi, but I'm not 100% positive. They were/are aiptasia eating machines for me!

Had a 2.5-3" aiptasia and small peppermints wouldn't touch it and ended up in my nuvo sump, uncatchable. Used Aiptasia X on it and it killed it but had dozens of babies in the tank. Maybe it had spread before Aiptasia X. Got 2 more large peppermints and all small aiptasia were gone in 2 days.
My opinion is real peppermints are death to small aiptasia but can't handle anything larger than 3/4".

Ive had both good and bad luck with the peppermint shrimp. They have always managed to get rid of the aiptasia but some have gone rogue and eaten acans and other coral.
