What You Ordered vs What You Received

They may fade a bit if in the bag for 2 days but won't turn brown. That fade will happen hours after you have removed them from the bag. Not immediately upon opening. I have seen many shipments of corals that have been in the bag for 2 days coming to the supplier. They were vividly colored.

Very interesting. I placed another order with aquaSD for this week. Will see what color they come.

3 of the corals I got are starting to show their colors again.

Even when the shipping is long because of a UPS delay?

Corals coming out of transship boxes are often still colored nicely.

This kind of reminds me of an old saying for people in advertising. "Advertising does to the truth, what whipping does to cream."

With that being said, I wonder if most of us over expect what we are getting. They are showing us the potential of these corals, and what they have been able to get out of them and their tanks. I've read a lot of Adams narrations at battlecorals and it seems there are more than a few that he has had to nurse along for a long time to get them up to their potential.
Just a thought.

ASD is very good W WYSIWYG. CA has very nice stuff but they definitely have some weird filters going on over there.

You know, my hammer just arrived from ExtremeCorals and it's a LOT better than I thought it'd be. Here's the photo from their site and two photos i just took, one with blue light and one with none. I'm actually thrilled with it! It literally JUST went into my tank not 3min ago so it'll color up more later.

A little better: first photo is with blue light and second has none at all. Truth lies in the middle. I'm certain it'd be better with a good dslr

Unique Coral does a great job of just photographing their coral without any photoshop. I've placed numerous orders through them with out any issues.

Just spoke to Adam of Battlecorals. Tomorrow I'll be receiving a frag of his Aussie Echinata and a big hunk of GARF Bonsai Acro. Will post photos tomorrow. These are from his site. Can't wait to see these!

Today's order from AQUA SD. All images I took were with a Canon EOS 5D Mark iii, 24-70mm canon lens and a canon macro lens. I did some basic color correction in photoshop.

I would definitely say they are doing some photoshop work to their corals.

It's definitely there lighting in their photos. Unfortunately we don't always have the same lighting water quality and exposure time lol

Waiting is the worst!! Mine comes in the morning and it feels an eternity!! I wish he shipped UPS. I love being able to use the GPS they have now!

I would say it's that there is a lot more post work being done to the photo, it's not the lighting. Exposure time isn't the issue here either. If I wanted to I could probably replicate their photo (or at least very close), but it would require a lot more post work than a quick color correction and balancing that I did.
