whats better a wider or longer tank

I never understood why people say 36” long.

There are 3 universal name dimensions length by width by height. Length usually refers to the longest dimension.

I was thinking of getting the Red Sea xxl 900 but it’s only 79 inches long would want a 7-8 foot tank cause in my tank now 155 gallon now front I have 4 tangs and in a tank length is king. with the custome tank I wouldn’t want to use pvc pipe also would want a center over flow and not Conor ones anyone know of any custom tank builders would be appreciated was thinking about spending no more then like 4,000-4,500 on a tank with stand may be like 7-8 feet long 2 foot wide and 3 foot tall something like that

For me it would depend on the location. If it's a show piece for the living room, I would sacrifice width for length. A nice 144x30x24 tall would be nice. Lots of leg room!

Length and width - you know everyone like the gearth! No one wants a short and stubby. Size does matter even is you can get the motion of the ocean in there. .... just sayin’

Trust me.
You do not want a 3 foot tall reef tank. Fish only maybe.
Change those last 2 dimensions around and you've got a great tank.
96"x36"x24 tall.

got in contact with glass cage the tank is gonna be 96 by 24 by 24 I already have 3 radions on my other tank so will 1 more do the job or do I need 2 more they are radion xr30 g4
