Whats considered a good fishtank?

Anything 180 or under I would buy AGA/Aqueon.(never a marineland, terrible reputation) Solid tanks, best overall pricing, can get clear or black silicone, with or without overflows.
Anything larger I’d look to custom builds.

To put the pricing in perspective I got my 180 without over flows for about 695, my 180 with overflows was around 765. That leaves a lot of extra money for toys

Very popular brand in America but personally have had a bad experience with them and now avoid any of their bigger tanks. They are cheap and mass produced and widely available. I truly think the quality isn’t the same as it used to be.

My aqueon 90g tank is over 5 years old now.

Aqueon is a mass-produced tank. They are plastic rimmed and braced. The glass may be a little thinner than a higher end tank in some sizes. The silicon work will not be as clean with the excess visible. They are not as pretty, but I doubt that they are any more prone to failures than any other tank if they are properly supported with a level stand. Buying a high end tank will not eliminate a potential failure due to a poor stand which I think is the root cause of most tank failures.

I have 17 AGAs in my house, 1 oceanic (weighs a ton and rimless- which I hate), 1 marineland that blew out.

My tanks range from 20l, 29g, 30g, 40b, 56, 65, 75, 90, 125 &180’s

I don’t get the shade they keep receiving, AGAs are the Honda accord/ Toyota Camrys of aquariums. fair price does not equate to low quality
