Same here. I put them in a bowl of tank water and slowly drip the peroxide in until I see the small bubbles start then I let them sit for a few minutes. Then rinse in tank water.

Ok so it is anonymous to definately 5-10 minute dip before putting in DT (Bayer, Coral RX, Revive or Hydrogen perox/water). And that should cut down on any melting or fungal/works/nudi/bacteria issues hopefully by 50% from the get-go.
Does lighting cause melting too? I have a 200+par sandbed, 300+ top of 'rock wall' under only T5's ... but I have a 'less light' area where my 48" ATI doesn't reach to one end of the 60" tank. You can say I am the conservative type and don't want anything 'melting' in my tank *SMILE*. If we are having a Zoa-Fest at the swap on Saturday I want to make sure my tank and dip preps are all in place. LOL

Just dont get anything too fancy! Stay away from most PE's, bloodshots, morphs and ect, go for eagle eyes, lunar eclipses, hornets, simple ones really are the easiest.
Overrated and overpriced period! Brings home the true meaning of....A fool and his money are soon parted

Well the MTRC frag swap came and went and I still never bought any Zoas. they are looked so microscopic on these tiny frag plugs. Might have to wait until I visit some more local club members to view their tanks with Zoas growing to see what they really look like.

A rock full of nice zoas is something to behold. That being said most of your high end zoas would take much longer to cover a large rock than say Eagle Eyes. Beauty and worth is ALWAYS in the eye of the beholder. Personally I do not like sps in any way. Nor do I question anyone's taste if they do like sps. Personally I own quite a few of the high end zoas and could spend hours looking at all of the designs and differences in each one. If you are going to pull the trigger on any zoas or palys stick with ones like Eagle Eyes, Mohawks, or even Red People Eaters (not an expensive PE). They grow quickly and often are sold very cheap for large polyp counts as people sell them to new zoa buyers to finance their high end zoa addiction.

I was mixed on them too. But seeing them spread is fun to watch. These are nothing special but I really enjoy this rock and the rest of my "collection"

Josh - I like the looks of the Zoa growing with the softy coral.
I bought some rock (kinda like an arch look) that I really want to have some Zoas spread on so I will definitely get some. Hope our next club meeting is at someone house that has Zoas growing.

We love zoas in our tank! We usually get them from Reefs2go when they have a polyp sale. We have some radioactive dragon eyes and some candy apples that we got from them, and they are spreading great. Our Fire and Ice are taking off as well. Our Ross zoas are much smaller than the others by the size of the polyps, but they are growing too. Hope you find some you like!

Paul - Are the 'Bam Bams' ok for a beginner mixed reef tank? If those are orange I really like to get some of them to brighten up the place.

Only coral I've ever owned that's totally melted away, leaving behind a big ole bare spot where once there was beauty. Ever reminding me of what I once had, always thinking what the heck!? Lol
