What's that one coral you just can't keep?

Man, I wish I could grow birds nest like some people, but this coral just HATES me. I can keep most types of coral (when I'm not being lazy... Ha!), but this one is simply a no-go. I wonder do any of the rest of you have corals that it just seemed like are off-limits for you?

Well I can keep it but it just won’t ‘flow like grass’

PS If you want some of that birds nest, I use it as a tank filler because it grows like a weed. I’ll FedEx you some, you pay the freight though for next day delivery from here!

I'm in the same boat. Birds Nest REFUSES to grow in my tank...tried twice now and both times it just turns white and dies. I have Torches, Hammers, Acro, leather corals, Zoa garden, all of that. And For whatever reason birds nest just die.

My nemesis corals are acans. Can't keep them. As soon as I introduce them they just recede and die. High flow. Low flow. High light. Low light. Spot feeding. Broadcast. I gave up. Love them but not wasting any more money on them, they hate me.
Birds nest would be the second one.

Same problem here! Can't get the GSP to flow like grass.

I am dosing nitrates and keeping my phosphates higher and still no luck. SPS growing great though.

Chalice corals for some reason haven’t done well for me. I grow birds nest ok but it turns brown.

The ones my emerald crabs eat.
So far they have killed 2 and are working on 2 more.
So I guess I cant keep emerald crabs.
I have several more to remove.

I give GSP away. I have it growing up the sides, back, over zoas. Trim it once a month. In pic that whole center section was/is a rock tower & 60%+ is GSP

Zoas.. I can keep them alive. they just never grow for me. Hopefully it'll be different this time around.

I can’t keep torches. Hammers and frogspawn no problem, every single torch I’ve tried dies within a few days.

SPS grows like a weed for me, but I attribute that to a calcium reactor.

Funny you bring this up, I just posted a thread the other day about PC Rainbow. I'm on my third one and i don't think it will make it. This one has lasted the longest. I can keep deep water, smooth skin and a few other high end acros and milli's. This one acro just doesn't want to live in my tank. In starting a frag tank due to growth on some of these current sps, to give you an idea how my growth is. Meanwhile I can't get a PC Rainbow to encrust!
