Coraline alge ain't just purple

Yes, your rocks will turn a dull color then coralline will start to encrust over them once your tank has been stabilized

that’s something new to me, i have sps, lps, and zoa in my tank and never dosed anything in the past 6 months.

You most likely have diatoms on your rocks. It’s part of the uglies stage. Coralline is usually slow to catch on. Just adding the bottled stuff won’t ensure it will survive and populate your tank. The shrimps mentioned will not eat algae at all. Even adding snails in won’t do anything. Nothing comes fast in this hobby.

I recommend to get yourself some blue leg hermits to help with the algae a little bit
