He's been like this for about a week....hasn't eaten in a week as well...no sign of parasites or injury. Normally eats shrimp 2x per week. All other fish and corals are fine.

That's why I was asking about the shrimp. There aren't as many diseases that really affect them big time like fish. Most losses I've seen are due to escape, water contamination, and food spoilage or blockage (this is rare but does happen).Member of one of my local forums (who is an eel guru) thinks the eel may have eaten spoiled shrimp. Says this is a fairly common problem with captive eels.

Were the shrimp whole or did you cut up into pieces? Peeled? See any bulges throughout his body?
Cut up. I did start cutting the pieces a bit bigger on the last feeding.

I know this is mostly about humans but it does explain how this can happen.
The eye looks a little cloudy in the video. Is this an accurate observation or just a trick of the camera?
Did this start after he ate last? It seems that way from your description. That would lead me to believe there was something wrong with the food. Either too big and caused a blockage or spoiled.
