Well thats it he's dead....I am missing my manderin so I wonder if he swallowed it and it got stuck

Im so sorry to hear that. They produce a lot of slime in defense so that may cause issues. Most predatory fish avoid them because of this though. If multiple fish have died in would keep a close eye out for signs of illness.
