Just wondering whats yall limit/ cut off point when spending money on corals. I told myself. Nov is going to be my last month buying corals for my tanks, and that I'm just going to sit back and let all my frags/ mini colonies grow out.

That's the million dollar question. I bought a Space Invader Pectinia for $250 four years ago. I bought an Inferno BTA three years ago for $250. The Pectinia is a monster and is worth well over $1,000. The BTA has split four times and I have gotten from $200-250 per clone. My limit goes up as I get some return on investment. I just scored a Blotched Anthias two days ago for over $200. The hobby has a way of sucking you in.

I usually say $30 for coral but will make an exception and say $50 at the most if something is really special.
With fish I tend to stick around the $50 mark too.
I don't see a point in dropping several thousand dollars on a fish or coral when there are always cheaper alternatives out there that are, in my opinion, just as nicer or even nicer. Show me a $2000+ coral and I'll show you one for less than $100 that rivals it's beauty.

My limit.....man I seems to surprise myself sometimes. Ive also tried the not gonna buy anything promise. The only time I stopped buying corals was when I stayed off the internet.

Well I thought I wanted a pair of candy basslets. A pair is available and I'm gun shy. Guess I found something outside my limit.

Challenge Accepted.

Beat these. LOL.

lol, those are sick!....gotta say my normal limit is $30-35 on corals but i've dropped 50-75 on one before. Fish $50 or so limit. I want to get in on one of these buys that i see on reef 2 reef and drop some $ for some beauties but it's just not wise for me to drop more, college kinda gets in the way.

No limit. If it is worth it to me then I will go for it...if I feel I can keep it alive and thriving.

I won't spend over $50.00, but I also don't have too. My local supplier will cut me a small frag of almost anything usually for $5-$20. I can wait for them to grow. :)

Wonder what those fancy corals in the pics would look like with white balance applied.
