Since Fall is coming and more inside activity....leading to MORE TIME devoted to the tank....

What's your next BIG PLAN in this hobby?

Tell us some detail, it might spark an idea for someone else.

Lol.

It’s 90oF and 90% humidity in the summer here. That’s also an ‘indoor’ kinda time of the year. Climate here sucks for doing anything outside. At least California 90oF was survivable due to no humidity.

Anyways- next on the agenda. Finish fishroom electrical and apex control center, take a wet saw to a 40b to make my frag tank, phyto-pod farm V2.0, and turn my currently empty 40 g refugium section into a tiered planted macro fuge.

Install a second tank (RSR 525 XL), convert my RODI station to auto fill and setup AWC on both tanks. I have a full write up of the second and third plans I will post before too long hoping to get some feedback.

I’m going to move my 32 gal cube from TN to KS and I’m looking for ideas on how not to kill everything and quickly cycle my tank when I set it back up in KS. If I have to at all.

Thinking of trying out a mindstream, or a CaRx, but neither are really needed... So more just wanting to play with something new.

Complete lighting on new tank and connect Calcium reactor.
On 93 cube, have a canopy made for it.

I'm trying to figure out my new tank build just bought a 120 gallon tank with a stand. Gotta paint the stand so my wife doesn't kill me and it matches our furniture, then figure out my plumbing situation and what kind of sump I am going to use! Algea scrubber or skimmer with a fuge? (any suggestions) Also need to figure out what kind of substrate I'm going to use for the tank and does anyone have any suggestions on brands or live or dead sand? once I figure all of that out then we will see what the next step is!

Still going to need to skim out the fish poop and mucus if you run an algae scrubber.

Personally- having gone the big fuge with tumbling chaeto route for 7 months - I’m adding an Algae reactor, and will tune the nutrients by adjusting light schedule, and turning my 40g fuge into a display type planted macroalgae farm with some cool shrimp and a big chunk ~20lbs- of super-populated live rock.

Will be doing a high tech planted tank build and setting up shrimp breeding and Berghia Nudibranch tanks.
Always trying new things. Now that I am retired I can get into really enjoying the hobby. Kind of tired of the display tank reef after having one for 35 years. Want to do more breeding and research now that I have the time.

So I should probably start with a protein skimmer and a refugium, I'm looking to find a nice sump for the tank. checking to see if I want to create the sump from nothing with some acrylic work or find something that's pretty decent and mod it out to fit everything I want. we shall see what happens once I get the tank in the house!

Currently renovating the room my old tank was in. I have a 55 set up right now holding all my livestock. Also still adding and growing out frags for the new system.

Currently looking at a 120 4x2x2 or using my old 90 3x2x2.

We successfully moved our 90 cube from NY to Colorado in May. We only moved the tank, fish and live rock though...not corals. A guy back home was paid to hold the coral for us, then ship them when we were ready. That did not end well.

I make my sumps. Regular tank and glass baffles from a glass store. Can’t justify $$$ for an acrylic custom sump. I like the fact I can design it myself.

What size sump? A 40b is awesome dimensionally for a 125.

I tend to do a close to 1:1 ratio with my DT, now that I have a fishroom. My current sump is 125 and a 29g to support my 180. I have another 29g I’m turning into a full dark cryptic sponge tank that’ll be plumbed in later.

The summer weather has been great but it definitely has kept me away from the reef projects!

This winter I'm building my dream coral room! Granted the room is a lot bigger and more of a greenhouse in my dreams, but still a coral room is going to be amazing!

Texturing is still drying, a sink needs installed, final pass of the electrician and by winter I hope to be growing corals in there! Room is about 12'x12'
