I personally use Eheim 1262s for return pumps.
But I thought I'd pass on some interesting info on Mags, which I use for water changes, mixing new batches of salt water and for water top off. (I can do a 50g water change in less that 1/2 hour with a Mag 24.) I recently had a conversation with an LFS owner who's had his store for a good 30 years. I was complaining that Mags consumed a lot of electricity. It was counter-intuitive to me, but he pointed out that the electricity consumption of Mags has been incrementally reduced over the years. If you've been running a Mag for years, you might consider checking the electricity consumption compared with that of more recently produced ones - the savings might be worth your replacing them.
