What's your water change look like?

I dont change water very often. But when I do its a large water change (maybe twice a year unless I mess something and have to mix it) 2 35 gallon brutes filled 85% mixing salt. Once salinity temp and Ph are where I want them long siphon hose out my door drain the tank till the fishies are wondering if I lost my mind. Once they start going into a panic because all the water is gone I pump the clean water into the tank. Fishies start to see some relief and I am done.

I use a 40+ gal brute can and pump it to my display with 50 foot hose, I use the same hose to siphon out the water

It’s a Sunday night ordeal once everyone is in bed. Roll the 20 gallon brute into the living room from the mixing room (aka breakfast room), roll in a 5 gallon bucket, siphon into fiver and roll to bathroom, dump, repeat until appropriate amount out. Hook up hose to pump and pump clean water into sump cuz a cheaper out and didn’t get a pump big enough to overcome head pressure. Next time. 20 minutes

For my tank I siphon out water to a floor drain then pump water to my sump from a brute trash can. For my daughters tank I use 5 gallon buckets.

I just turn a valve upstream of my Reeflow pump . it pumps the water out of the sump into Washing machine drain.Then turn on the Mixing pump.. Turn a valve there to refill the sump..

I'm old school (2-bucket method). I just don't trust ANY auto equipment (you know, Terminator, and Murphy's law).
I have a bucket of salt water that I mix at least 24 hours in advance, then use another bucket to drain water into. Once I drain, I pour new water in.

Prepping for a water change, I hit a button on my Apex, and it fills my 40g water change barrel with fresh RO/DI, shuts off with high level sensor, with a float valve backing that up, and a not to exceed timer backing _that_ up.

Toss in my ancient Mag11 pump, and salt to taste... I use a refractometer. I used to add a heater at this point, but have found that between the fairly warm environment in my sump closet, and the heat from the old Mag-drive pump, it's not really necessary. The temp is near enough not to matter by the time I'm done mixing. Mix for at least 6 hours, normally, overnight.

Activate 'water change mode' on my Apex. Turns off return pump, both circulating pumps, skimmer, ATO, and reactor.

I have 2 10 gallon white rubbermaid containers I use for water changes. Normally, I do a 30 gallon change, so 3 buckets. I use a gravel vac, try and get what detritus I can out while siphoning. Dump the water in a gravel bed next to my front door. As an added bonus, I've not had to weed the gravel bed since I started dumping saltwater there

Connect my QD connection from the Mag11 to a 3/4" silicone hose that is permanently routed through the wall to the tank. Go to the tank side, and open the valve on the end of the silicone hose. Fill to 'full' mark on the tank. Close the valve when it's full... takes about 10 minutes, usually. I normally use the flow to blow off my live rock, while it's filling.

Deactivate 'water change mode' on the Apex... it turns on the pumps, leaving the skimmer off for 30 minutes, to let everything stabilize first.

I can normally do a 30 gallon water change, start to finish, in about a half hour.

You can see the water change barrel, lower left, and the silicone hose hanging... but the float switch and valves are in the corner that isn't visible in this pic. Never really tried to take a photo of the mixing station.

Fill 20g tub with RO/DI with float valve, once full add salt, when clear check salinity, roll to tank, empty 20g from tank into empty tub, pump from new water into tank, pump from old water tub into now empty tub, roll back to bathroom and pump into toilet. I do this weekly on my 75g with 30g sump. Total process from start to finish is 4 hours, actual time I spend is around 1 hour.
