When do you get to the point where...

Right!?! I'm already buggin about when he decides to list and sell!!!!! [emoji51]
and that's the problem... I have stuff for reefing I no longer use, like media reactors for example, but won't get rid of them either. I'm like a reefing hoarder.

Hahaha!!! Wait until you get to the point that you realize that the expensive equipment that you bought is now worthless after a few years and You can't even give it away.

I may get a HOB fuge because I like watching what goes on in them. Otherwise, I'm set with 2 vortecs, a light and a HOB filter to hold the heater.

Actually, the same goes with woodworking - I may get a 2" belt sander/grinder and start making knives but am not really wanting for any tools. I did add a baby 50's Craftsman to the shop but it was my wife's grandfather's and thought it deserved a home. All restored and is the perfect in-shop saw so I don't have to go out to the equipment area to cut something small on the cabinet saw.

when does it end???

Either when it gets boring or the money isn't there is my guess.

For me the main spending ended after I graphed my credit card usage and saw the trend line. I have a family member with 90k credit card debt and I don't plan to do the same. Besides that I'm probably going to get bored with this anyways. Anything I'm into gets boring except drinking coffee for some reason.

I know my financial limitations and try to stay within those parameters. I spend a lot of time on Craigslist, various FB groups and here looking for bargains.

Ya I got 50lb of free live rock on a socalireefs reefs post and found a 58 gallon/stand/skimmer/sump/pumps and plumbing for $150 on Craigslist. Need sand/heaters/water and the new tank will be up :) some Amazon gift cards for Christmas are going to take care of those heaters.

hahaha no doubt. You guys have ruined my life (not). My excuse is that I don't drive a car so that frees up lots of money every month that can then safely be applied to my hobby. I actually went about a whole month a few months without buying anything. That was weird

My UPS driver knows me by name and brings my packages early when he makes one of his first stops at work. Live fish/corals especially he will make sure he gets it to me, if I'm not right there he will ask to leave it with someone if I'm busy or bathroom.

Why would you want to? You will just blow your $$$ on some other junk that you use once and toss it in the garage, or worse someone else will spend it for you on a project for you to do like painting the house or digging holes in the yard..

Hey I found this really cool dosing pump, can you get it for me?[emoji23][emoji23].

Let's just say that I'm going to be in Orlando, FL for a job related convention. I already have plans to visit a few reef shops and have communicated with them to make sure it'll be cool if I hand pick coral to be shipped home. I have another convention, pottery related in Portland, OR in March and I'm mapping out my reef shop visits. I figure I'll pay to have them packed as if they were being over-nighted and they should be fine for the 4hr drive from there.
See planning. Then I get the next 9 months to pay off the credit card so I can do it again next year! LOL

yes yes YESSS!!! Time to be generous to your fellow reefer i 2017. I have a wish list on amazon that is open to the public FYI

I find that if I come across a good deal on something new or used I end up buying it. For example I have 2 MP10 and 1 MP40 on my 75 reef saw a mp10 for $100 how could I pass that up. This addiction sucks.
