When i had my pet store, i knew in advance what was coming. Problem is I could not commit until i knew it was actually packed and shipped and was alive on arrival.
I see the store’s position

Logistics is a massive problem here atm with flight spaces being booked and cancelled constantly. It’s a huge headache for the stores trying to get an order in. I totally get it but the timing is horrendous:)

I ordered an elephant nose fish from the LFS once. Anyways, many weeks of waiting later, and they “can’t get it from their supplier”. In other words, they sold it to another customer.

I saw a marine betta once at Petco. It was a good Petco too. Granted, I have a tank not near large enough for one.

The two LFS stores I use both have tried to locate a betta for months, unsuccessfully. I am tight with both and they are great, but a long drive from home!

Ironically the store closest to home I don’t use but I had dropped in to get live food for our new leopard wrasse. She was purchased and shipped interstate. Fish are hard to come by due to COVID messing up flight logistics.

I still can’t believe the day after we got the leopard that when I walked in the betta was at this store. I check their fish all the time on the odd chance - seriously what are the odds!

I’m so mad but it’s funny too :)

@terraincognita I play too many games!

If you ever play LOL and you're Gold or higher PM me :P

I bought a marine betta a few weeks back..took a piece off of one of my chromis face the next day....
Don't **** around with those. Soon as I put it in, the other fish scattered, knew exactly what it was and stayed the **** away. They didn't really sleep the first night..

Marine bettas can be hard to find! Took me over a year to locate one (ironically enough was trying to get a tang when I found it).

My lfs's usually know what they ordered, but sometimes they get accidental surprises, and sometimes an "out of stock" order will show up anyways.

I recently got a pintail fairy wrasse for $35 because it arrived instead of the 6 line they ordered. (Thank goodness he only cares about the price he paid, and not the suggested retail prior to selling it).

My lfs i asked for a tiny marine betta...they got three tiny ones.. by that time, I already had found an adult one for cheaper.
It took them a week to get them though. I also asked for a geometric pygmy..they got a few, I bought that

So not only do they look like FW bettas, but they’re nasty little ***holes just like them too! I never would’ve guessed!

Is it bad that I thought it had something to do with Jebao pumps at first glance? I thought maybe he'd been promised a Vortech and was given a Jebao instead. Lol!

Jebaoted!

@terraincognita I wish! I am more of a RPG person :D

@Indytraveler83 We have a pintail available at the moment for a cool $175 :O

@Hincapiej4 Bettas are pretty preds though. The one at the shop looked divine. Sorry your Chromis got hannibaled

Google searching only made it more confusing honestly

The etymology of modern slang is so friggin weird.
