Where do you keep your dirty socks?

About to find out... just got a new Samsung with the Sanitize setting and am running a load with a dozen socks as I type this. I'll let you know.

Spoiler alert - they dont melt ;)

I keep mine in an empty bucket and when Im down to my last two socks, I wash them on the sanitize setting in my washing machine with bleach and then run them through again on a quick wash with just hot water. Then they hang and dry for a few days before use.

I knew someone would chime in, with either good news or bad news, before my cycle finished:). That's good news!

For the past year or more I've been keeping the dirty socks in a 5G bucket next to the sump equipped with one of these so-called "gamma lids." These are sealed and prevent the stank from seeping into every part of the house. I've found that despite me trying to get the water out the socks always come out with a little bit of water from the tank so by the time I pack 24 or so socks in here, they are partially submerged in saltwater.

I have a large ziplock bag I put them in until I get enough to clean.

lol in an empty grocery bag hanging in my fish closet. Wife loves it LOL

Toss mine in a 5-gallon bucket until I'm down to my last 2 and then wash them turned inside out with bleach.

Some tank water from water changes. Then I go through the bucket for any hitch bickers I want and the inside out and into my cleaning bucket. I always like 2 keep em around 4 pods and goodies... I could never just dry em or bleach em just sitting

I store mine in the garage in a plastic laundry basket that we put out there for dirty hand towels. Eventually all that is left in there is dirty filter socks and I wash them with a full load of bleach only and rinse afterwards. I then soak them in prime before running them through the dryer. Make sure you don't use fabric softener or dryer sheets.

Got the maytag. Only tried with 3 so put it on short wash but changed the settings for hot water and steam rinse.

Im thinking of throwing a couple of old towels in to make it more quiet rather than the plastic banging in the drum while its rotating. .

I have the Samsung with sanitize also. Never used that setting for socks.... too chicken. Let me know how you make out lol.

I have the Samsung with steam and it cleans then great! I run 3 cycles - one with bleach / steam, 1 with just hot water / steam, and a final one with nothing in it on the clean setting. Takes a little while but I usually do 24 or so at a time and it works well for me!

I wash mine strait away, in a bucket with the hose, probably about 6 times, then hang in sun to dry

Mine get rinsed thouroughly, bleached overnight, rinsed again, then they sit in clean water until I'm ready to switch socks again
