If you are a newer a reefer I would actually recommend avoiding live sales for a while and deciding what corals you want specifically. Live sales run a bit on impulse urgency.

TSA, WWC, Tidal Gardens and Jason Fox are all very reputable vendors with a variety of corals. Many sponsors here as well to choose from.

Absolutely. Most of the auctions are chopped up mariculture corals which are hard to keep and high risk of pests.

@Barb0713 - Tidal Gardens is in central ohio - they're probably a good option. You might want to check some of the ohio clubs - there are some big ones - and always hobbyists willing to ship
