I seldom get answers to my questions
I'd imagine that you'd get quite a few "opinions", if not answers, to your question here.
As a starter, a cyano problem is often a matter of a nutrient level (high NO3 and/or PO4) in your tank, typically brought on by not balancing your bioload to the filtering capacity of your tank. Too much food or too much fish are typically at the base of your problem. You can cut back your feeding, try to do more water changes or increase your filtering capacity (more powerful mechanical filteration, more chaeto in your fuge, GFO in a reactor, etc.)
I suspect that you are feeding your fish pretty well since your big clownfish are spawning.
You can turn off your light for a while (I suppose you'll hear about this from beaslbob) or use Red Slime Remover or Chemi-Pure, but your cyano problem will return unless you take care of your underlying problem.
I am starting to see some cyano over a very shallow sand bed in the front of the tank where I feed my fish. This always happens when I start vodka dosing. If I stop dosing vodka, my fighting Conch and nassarius snails manage to keep my sand very clean. I don't know why they can't keep up with cyano when I dose with vodka. I suppose they may be too drunk to work. Since the sand is more than 3 years old, I am going to replace the sand in the area where cyano is growing. This helped in the past. I keeping my fingers crossed.
