I've been looking to get a new tank, maybe a 65 gallon tank. Marineland makes one for a good price but I've read some sketchy things about them breaking. Glasscages makes one that's about double the price but I'm willing to pay that if it is honestly worth it. I also like the edges of the glass cages tanks too. What do you guys think about the difference between the two?

Only issues I've heard with Marineland are with the 300dd's. Their 65g should be OK. I've heard more issues with glass cages, but it's been years. I know deep blue makes the standard 65g. Too bad DSA isn't around anymore. That might've been a good option. Otherwise, you can go with a custom maker.

Hmm I didn't even think of deep blue. it would be better too because it's probably cheaper than custom made and I'll be able to drill holes in the glass.

Aesthetic. Biggest one was a standard 75gal and my current is a 60 cube. Seams are good just a little messy.

Could I just cut the messy silicon away and redo it more neatly or would I have to take all the silicon off?

I would look over the silicone at the store before you buy, and if it's not up to your standards then check out the deep blue tanks. They are close in price.

This tank seems like a good candidate. Only thing I have a question about is how big are the pre drilled holes and are they drilled on the bottom glass? Does this affect the integrity of the bottom glass? I would still have to drill a hole for the return, correct?

Ok slow down
I was going to say deep blue any reason ur going so small? I mean the 65 gallon is a weird size it's like a 40 breeder width and a weird height?
Second deep blue makes nice rimless tanks look into them
Reef ready yes the bottom is drilled but there are two holes one for return and one for intake
No the integrity will be fine I mean half if not more reefers have holes on the bottom of the tank. Holes are one inch and three quarter
I think u should get the rimless 90 gallon deep blue sells there very nice

Well considering Im trying to upgrade from a 30 gallon tank now, I'd say it isn't too small. I do like the look of rimless tanks but I think I want to put a canopy over top one day so it kind of makes sense to go with a tank with the brace on top.

Well I was never considering cutting away all the silicone I was just wondering. It would be too time consuming.
I wouldn't touch it mess with integrity and I'm not saying small I mean the tank is just a weird odd shape. Do u have room for a four foot tank? Or u want to stay the same size footprint as the thirty for equipment reasons?

The dimensions say 36 x 18 x 24 so it should only be three ft long and 2 feet tall. I will have room for a tank that size. I thought the 65 gallon tank was a good idea because I didn't want to be overwhelmed going too big on my next tank and all the equipment needed for a tank of that size is within my budget range.

Ok that's good then way to think it out I just didn't know if u knew it was an odd shape tank. Go for it then the only thing I have heard about deep blues is that the reef ready overflow kit is cheap and very loud so u might want to upgrade that. Other then that I think u made a good choice
