I have a deep blue reef ready 75 gallon, It has been great for the year so far it has been up and running. My over flow is extremely quiet, but the only thing I did to modify it was to drill a very small hole under the water line (on the return pipe). Other than that, everything has been great.

Also check out SCA aquariums. I've had their 50g cube and currently have the 66g. You can purchase direct or through amazon. They sell just the tank or a package deal. The plumbing they include is a thin walled pvc so I always do my own plumbing.

The silicone between the two pieces of glass is part you do not want to mess with. You can trim/ clean up/ remove replace the silicone that is one the outsides of the glass. Just remember new silicone does not stick to dry silicone. So you can clean it up with no issues. Planet Aquariums makes really nice tanks too. I know they are around me in texas not sure what their US distribution looks like. No way would I get a glass cage, but dont see asking about them anymore.

I've got a marineland 60 cube. The silicone isn't bad in any noticeable way, and I'm kinda picky. Plus, I never notice my silicone, I'm looking at my fish and corals. If you're worried about structural integrity, if you buy the stand tank combo you get a lifetime warranty on both plus any livestock you've got documented. Hard to go wrong there.

Okay I think I have narrowed it down to these three options.

This is just the tank only. I would have to still get all the equipment and build a stand.

This comes with the tank, stand, sump, sca skimmer rated for 65 gallons, and return pump.

This one is the cheapest option but with this I would also need to build a stand and get all the equipment.

So do you think the second option is worth it or should I go for the tank only options?

I would do the deep blue and get the equipment u want

What are plans for the tank? Do you have a fish wish list. Some fish that you could do in the 65 wouldn't work in the 50g due to shape. Something else to consider..

After several years of owning glass aquariums in sizes from 10 gallons to 265 gallons, I have given up on glass. I'm tired of the silicone giving and leaking. When my last tank dumped over 200 gallons of water on my floor, I ordered an acrylic one from Acrylic Designs...I think they're in Maryland. It should be arriving around the end of January.

I have had many marineland tanks over the years and had trouble only with 1 (265) and marineland made it right by me. Currently running a 300DD.

How long have u had the 300 I have heard horror stories about them and I'm looking for a big tank like that did they fix the problem?

I had a 75 standard that the front glass cracked across the whole tank as my wife and I sat looking at it. We both had a "deer in the headlights" reaction out of disbelief. The tank was 3 months old. No scratches, no rocks against the glass, just out of the blue. When I called the LFS I got it from, They told me they have had several Marineland tanks come back with this issue. My local club had 3 members that had this issue as well, from 56 gal to 300 gal tanks....I'll never buy one again.
My 2 cents....
