I am looking for a tank that looks really nice, and not to much. Basically a smooth look into any type of house. Looking for others opinions.

1st one: The waterbox 105.4 frag ( 48" x 24" x 16" )

2nd one: Waterbox REEF 130.4 ( 47"×24"×22" )

I like the aqua scape on number 1 more but the tank size of number 2 gets my vote
minus the stuff already in the tanks, which one would look more modern / smoother ?

I think the first one looks cleaner and more modern. The light bar on the second one looks more modern then the two arm kits imo

Do you think the 1st one would look nice with t5 lighting ?

Also would a blue tang fit in the shallower tank ?

Tank #2 with scape #1
Honestly I don't see much difference between the two, except for dimensions. Whatever you do I'd always recommend a black background with matching overflow. I've had a blue background on my old tank and although I liked it, all the black equipment and power cords were such an eyesore that they ruined the look imo.

not much difference between the two looks wise personally, i think if your gonna go lps the extra depth of tank #2 will make it easier to create indirect flow. i have the same tank #1 for sps & it would be a bit of a challenge to mount hammers or torches to rock work without blasting them because of it being on the shallow side. if your gonna go sps the shorter tank will be easier to get higher par #s as it's 6" less water the light has to pass through. agree with the black background on pretty much any tank.

Tank #2 has better dimensions. But both tanks are too small for a blue tang long term.

yeah im looking for a wall to wall sps for this tank, fo you regret going with a shallow look or is it something you love ?

I like the tank a lot very easy to work in even my cheep lights cook. But it's more of a grow out, if I was going for a display tank you might still want #2 it's hard to put rock work in a 16" tall tank. Unless it's just small pieces on the bottom.

Yea I bought a torch there too and now I'm wishing I got a gold smh

I like rock work but not a ton in my opinion, but if you look back would you get this tank over a taller one ?

it's my 4th reef tank so yes absolutely. if it was my only tank, no i would go with the taller tank my display tanks are 24" tall it's just easier to set up a nice looking rock work & place coral higher & lower in the tank & manage flow for all of them. the coral in my 16" tank are on the floor of the tank so flow is easy.
