Whitish blaze like poop from tangs

Best thing to do is give the fish baths in methalyne blue.

Okay - so I have a few 2G bucket. I can fill it up halfway, drop an air stone in it, put the MBlue in, and dip them both for 30 minutes.

Sounds good? I was hoping not to have to catch them and stress them out more - but I’m pretty certain there was ammonia burn [emoji29].

I have a square colander to catch them - but the yellow tang is tiny so not sure if I can catch him in that.

Quick update - Kole tang is back eating film algae in the QT again. I’ll try feeding tonight. Going to LFS to get MBlue

Yes, correct. Also match temp and salinity. I usually use QT water, to match. Then add back new SW to compensate for what I removed.

That's good news!

Ya I was going to use the QT water.

I just went to severe LFS and no one had it in stock - time to order it online

Hi all,

My ammonia continues to be high yet the fish same okay and eating. I can’t seem to get it down now. I added a third sponge and dropped more MB7. I have no idea how much food my wife dropped in but apparently it put the tank out of cycle. What should I do at this point.

The fish show no signs of disease - but concerned about the ammonia.

I’m at 0.25 right now.

I think at this point continuing to change the water is going to just remove the bacteria.

WCs and add Biospiria.

The fish may seem ok now, but with ammonia, internal damage can be happening that is not visible.

Testing ammonia right now - looks like it’s back under control

The tank ammonia levels are still sky high. I can’t believe they are alive[emoji79]. I can’t get these levels down and I tested my display to see if the ammonia kit was off (it read 0).

I’m very concerned at this point that the QT with these levels will do more damage than zero. I’m really considering getting them into my display after a MBlue bath because I think staying in this tank will kill them.

I’m at a complete loss on what to do - they have been in QT for 3.5 weeks. They were both safety stopped and give prazi and current are given metro’ed food for the glazey poop

I did a 60% WC when my wife overfed the tank and followed it up with a 25%, another 25%, and a 5% change in subsequent days. I even added a 3rd sponge to the tank from the DT sump.

In the tank - both tangs are happy af and eat like champs. I dunno what to do [emoji29].

The other confusing part is my ammonia alert badge reads normal.

All the LFS even if they were open right now use the same API ammonia test that I do.
