I have bought corals on ebay.. Sometime you get a good deal and sometimes you dont. Some corals go extreemly high on ebay. Most people know what a coral goes for and bids accordingly.

If its not worth the shipping dont bid on it. I really dont get that statement... If you bid and win you are obligated to buy no matter what the shipping.

ebay is worth it big time for corals. i've gotten my share. but i think my biggest score was getting a panasonic 22 inch LCD tv back in the day when LCD TV tech first hit. it was like $2800 retail and i won it for $378 brand new!

You can find some killer deals on frags on eBay, Especially Sps frags. Reefpets always has a bunch of awesome frags for great deals.

I have baught many corals on ebay. I always buy a number at a time to make shipping worth while. If you win just one coral, to bad your stuck paying for the coral and shipping.

I have used it in the past. Got a few good deals but I am too competitive by nature and got caught up in a few too many bidding wars and paid more than I should have so I usually pass on it now......

Be careful to check buyer feedback. At least one vendor on eBay doesnt ship corals properly. I've talked to them and nothing ever seems to be done about it.

ebay is a great way to buy corals if you know who your buying from, once you find a trusted person than it's game on!

I have several times, Cornbred sells his stuff on ebay and you can get some killer deals if your payin attention. Word of caution know what your buying. I typically only will buy a named piece that I know how it looks. I think you might get more photoshopping on ebay....

I do from a sponsor right here. Austin aqua farms. Search aaf then category pet supplies. They have some up now. I buy weekly from them. I get what I think are good deals. The frags are about half what I would pay locally. Just put in what you are willing to pay and let ebay bid for you. Then I turn off the computer and wait till bidding is over. Then check email and see if I won. I win some, I loose some. But it can ba addicting, like gambling. It sux to loose something you really wanted for .50cents.

Exactly. And you will also learn who to stay away from.

I've purchased a lot on ebay.

some of the nicest corals I've ever gotten were ebay purchases

as far as bidding wars, if people were smart enough not to jack up the price early but sit back patiently and pounce when the time is right than bidding wars would be obsolete

What he said. Don't bid till the end. Other wise you run the price up and who knows who your bidding against. They might not know the game. Wait till there is only a few minutes left, then start bidding. It will keep the price down and not let others know how interested you are.

I do, but mostly from local vendor that i can go pickup myself

He uses egg crate to show size and doesnt use special lights.

Agreed. The majority of my "nice" stuff is eBay bought.

Depends on the vendor... You have to read the description. Some combine shipping, some dont, some give you a couple of days to win other bids, some require instant payment, some actually have websites too and allow you to combine shipping with stuff off thier website.
It usually tells you in the description and if not send them a message to verify or see if they will hold for you.
