Thanks for your purchases Matt! I just sent over a PM. I realize it can be frustrating when you bid and lose by a dollar or so... I have more of the same coral that I had listed tonight and of course you are more than welcome to let me know the coral that you missed out on and they can be added to your order.

Refurb fosho. Who in the right mind will auction a $2800 for $378. Comeon now.

ebay is worth it big time for corals. i've gotten my share. but i think my biggest score was getting a panasonic 22 inch LCD tv back in the day when LCD TV tech first hit. it was like $2800 retail and i won it for $378 brand new!

Try Reef-O-Holics on e-bay. He is here in Kansas City and I pickup my purchases locally, but I think his shipping is $29, which is good. Has autions most every Sun evening.

Trick to winning is put in your bid at a fair price plus about 10%. Your bid will not be increased to that level unless needed. If it goes over that, then you did not want to pay that much anyway. You will get enough at a lower price to offset some at a premium to fair value. I saw a lot of nice acans going for $11-$15 last Sunday. Great guy and high quality stock.

WHATCHUMEAN? sealed box, no fingerprints on the item, looked exactly like when you buy a brand new unit...but who knows?..... One thing tho, it did take 3+ weeks and a bunch of emails going back and forth until the guy finally sent it to me. I don't think it was REFURB'd since LCD tech was so new at the time. He had a 100% positive rating, alot of transactions, and when i researched his past sale history, he did sell mostly expensive electronics for cheap with rave reviews from his buyers. so maybe he was just an honest guy? There's still people like that out there. Or he somehow got it free (maybe bought someone's abandoned storage unit and it was in there, inherited a house with crap in it ..etc..etc..) . anyways still running strong in my in-laws bedroom, just had to replace the cheap remote that came with it.

I bought most of my corals, majority of which were acans, trachys, and lobos on ebay and for the most part I ended up with some pretty nice corals at decent prices. I usually try to buy only when there are multiple pieces of interest to me from a seller to help keep the overal price more feasable when shipping is included. The majority of the time shipping is reasonable although there are a few that do charge a much higher shipping rate.

I wanted 4 frags I bid heavily on them lost all 4 in last min ! Now if I had won 1 of those frags I would have been ****** cause I would have to pay shipping for 1 frag! Sooo not sure about ebay

Happened to me a couple times with corals, many more times with other stuff I tried to buy. I think it's called sniping when they get you at the last moments

Okay ladies and gentlemen, after a hard left turn on this thread, it is back open for posting. Please feel free to post "Helpful" info on the ebay topic. This is not a place for bashing vendors or other reefers. Any info on that topic can be taken to pm...deal? Any post following that path will not be tolerated.

Sorry to even have to post that gang. On with the thread folks.....

Ebay's like LFS, you scavenge and if you get lucky..bam! a jewel in your box, something that you could name after your favorite beer. Cheaper and unique. Ninety percent I win since I bid at the last 10 seconds.

So you're the one who gets me at the last second huh? lol

The only way to bid on corals on eBay is to bid in the last 10 seconds. Otherwise you won't win them, at least that is how I win mine.
