Me, because he's not in my display tank! I'll be taking another rock downstairs shortly -- if I still hear him clacking tonight, I'll know I didn't grab the right rock. It's a waiting game, but I will absolutely win.

I missed something. How do we know it’s a mantis shrimp?

The Pennywise graveyard of littered shell bits and prey remnants outside its hidey-hole, the tell-tale clacking you can hear from across the room, its super wiley ways, and my spidey senses. I bet he's just an ugly brown one, but how rad would it be if he's one of the crazy colored ones?!

Guys, I have some great news! I know which two rocks the mantis shrimp ISN'T living in! My daughter caught a glimpse of it last night, but I have yet to see the little devil.

I have six more rocks to eliminate. It's a good exercise in patience for me. Haha!

It's hard not to root for the little guy underdog in this battle only doing what nature gave him the tools to do but I do hope you don't lose more tank friends either.

I don't know if I could say that if I ran into a mantis (insect) or shrimp the size of cocker spaniel. Lb for lb, I'd be minced meat up against one.

Aside from us, sharks and orcas have been known to enjoy a bite of mantis shrimp, and some have been gobbled up by large fish like the bluefin tuna and the barracuda, the main mantis shrimp predators seems to be much much larger creatures that are able to swallow it whole without much warning!

Aside from us, sharks and orcas have been known to enjoy a bite of mantis shrimp, and some have been gobbled up by large fish like the bluefin tuna and the barracuda, the main mantis shrimp predators seems to be much much larger creatures that are able to swallow it whole without much warning!

Yes and only the most dangerous alpha predators in the ocean challenge them in battle for food.

3. Manty (I just named the shrimp like a pro) is a fascinating bas*%#d who is facing life in the Alcatraz if the tank police finally hands him over for processing.
4. there are several extradition demand by other tanks but it is unclear weather it is due to Manty is facing charges over there too or those tanks are part of some sort of terrorist organisation.
5. Manty is apparently is a delicacy according the QAASP (quiet association of apex sea predators ).
