I tried a bicolor and coral beauty, both had to be removed.

Sometimes you get lucky with angels, often you don’t. If you get lucky it doesn’t usually last. Got to decide what your priorities are and how much damage is acceptable. I have a quartet of dwarfs (a flame pair, lemon peel and potters), a regal, a rock beauty and an emperor. Zoas get eaten, as do acans. Fleshy LPS are lunch, but most euphyllia and chalice are fine. Occasionally a chalice frag will get eaten. SPS are nibbled a bit, but rarely to the point of damage. I like the angels a lot so I put up with it. Plus I’ve been in the hobby for decades so I don’t overreact to a little nipping.

I have one of the biota captive bred coral beauties. Totally worth the extra cost, he is a model citizen. Been in the tank for about a year now.

i have no angels in my tank (yet) but i’d *love* to add several Centropyge angels in my main 180G tank + a regal & a majestic.

i have a small collection of interesting sponges though ... red tree sponges, orange tree sponges, blue vase sponges ... most easily matching the span of my hand. one or two gorgonians as well.

i think sponges are even more irresistible to an angel than acans & other LPS. a potential buffet of savory choices lol. any experiences specifically re: sponges to share??

@Fishnut do the changing emperors nip on zoanthids when they start nipping?
I can’t say if young emperor will bother Zoas. My other Angels had already killed them off and I never wanted to risk putting in any more.

I have a group of dwarf angels (Bicolor, Potter’s, Flame & Multicolor) that are leaving my coral alone so far. I have Gonipora, Alevepora, large Toadstools and Pipe Organ (Tubipora musica). I purposely used coral using guidelines in Austin Lefevre’s Macna video (@mattzang linked this on page 1). So far, so good. But even if one started nipping a coral, I would rehome corals & keep my fish!:) I love angels.

I have a Bellus in my mix reef tank. in my previous tank i had a potters and a coral beauty, never had issues. Prefer the Bellus as he is always swimming around and areal beauty, expensive fish bt worth the money. The coral beauty and potters tended to hide in the rocks and seldom seen!

i had a potters and a coral beauty, no issues! I presently have a bellus, a pricey angel, but worth the money. An up and about, always a show piece. The coral and potters always tended to hide in the rock work and came out at feeding time

I have a coral beauty in a mixed reef with no issues so far.

I have a Bellus male. Want to get a Spotbreast female to go with him (female Bellus prices have gotten out of control, at least at LA).

Don't think I'd try any others.

I've had a Potter's for about a year now. i work from home, right next to the tank, and haven't seen it nip at anything. That said, a small clam I tried looked great for a week before shrinking into nothing in about 2 days. Not sure of the cause, but you never know for sure.
