Thanks guys. It was a bit slow for a while but has really taken off over the past few months. :) Due to the price and delicacy of this specific acro, I stated it out low and moved it up over the course of months.

Hmm anyone want to trade for grafted cap? I love this coral and I would pay the $ for it in a hurry if I had it!

For a red dragon... that is some intense growth for 8 months! From your picture looks like the color is a bit faded... is it just the picture? Does it still look like it did as the frag pictured

In essence, the Red Dragon Acro isn't actually red, it is more of a burgundy color. In my experience, it likes medium light ands strong flow. The growth tips are slightly blue, too.

I might be posting some Red Dragon frags up for sale soon if anyone is looking for a piece!

Yeah, I need a better camera. The base is darker red and it gets lighter towards the tips. red to rosy to pink to light blue. very small white polyps. It's a lot brighter than I expected it to be in person.

and 1 year later, the branches are around 4" each now. :)

It's really starting to take off now. ~300 par and medium flow.

Nice, now you just need a tyree ice fire growing next to it and you'll have a killer combo! Red vs the blue/green would be intense.

I'll have to put this coral on my list for RAP this year.

Acropora have a tendency to grow thicker with more radial and incipient corallites in high flow environments examples being low tide species like the abro, humilis, and solitaryensis. That still doesnt explain it though, you're right.

Here is a picture of our Red Dragon colony when we received it directly from the originator. The colors are off due to shipping stress, but the growth pattern is insane!
