Who is your reefing guru ?

With so many iconic figures and personalities out there who's advice and work in the reefing community do you look up to the most ? Mine would be Richard Ross .
Tien from tidal gardens. I want him to read me bedtime stories. His voice is so soothing.

That's so funny you said that.. my wife asked me one day if I was watching a meditation video when I was watching one of his youtube vids. I dont think he would get excited if a building was burning down. Lol.

I dont think I have one specific guru I go to.. for chemistry I always find myself looking at Randy's posts, for aquascapping i fin myself watching alot of Asian videos (they have some amazing raised reefs in china, japan)
I feel like i take a little from everyone. Sanjay is one of my favorite reefers, hes honest about failures and successes. Will tell.you " yea I haven't done a water change in forever. Y, bc I'm lazy." Lol.

My reefing guru is the actual Godfather of Reefing himself. The one and only reefer that started it all. Without a doubt everything we know today about reefing was from him. I have read all of his dozens of books and studied his work for years.

I find myself watching brs, waterbox live, & fishofhex the most. I do watch some of saltwaterfish.com & tidal gardens their tone is very sleep provoking though

Chemistry - Hmm. @Randy Holmes-Farley. Said it before. If he says toss cow poop in my tank, im under the cow with a bucket.
Lighting - @Dana Riddle. Dont understand his stuff half the time but hes always open to answering and clarifying and he pushes the development of the hobby itself which makes everything better.
Who i copy? - @pullen_ian on IG and @Chaswood79.

Most soothing Youtuber - Than from Tidal Gardens and Antonio from Eats Sleep Reef.

@HotRocks @4FordFamily are two of my go to people for fish questions. I have so many for corals I cant possibly list them all. Definitely our amazing #reefsquad members as well as members of the #MODS team
Another one I'd like to mention is my friend Jeremy. Hes not on the forums, but shout out to him for getting me started in this hobby!

I’m thankful that @HotRocks and @4FordFamily doesn’t charge for questions, I would be broke, LOL!!! The R2R community helped me as a whole getting into this hobby. The #reefsquad has helped me out a great deal which is why I became part of the squad to pay it forward and help others.

Man this is really hard. I don't have one single guru. Chemistry was the first big hurdle for me and Rand Holmes-Farley has been a huge help, especially with bulk chemicals back when I had 4 tanks.
Dana Riddle and Sanjay Joshi have both been helpful getting me up to speed on light and leds.
A friend that is local to me, Jeff D'huyvetter, was a huge help back when I was first getting started.

Of course the Reef Squad and Mods here are great people, I just haven't been involved with them long enough yet.

In addition to the names mentioned, I would also include the following on my list of saltwater/reef influencers: Martin Moe, Matt Wittenrich (Poma Labs), Roy Yanong (UF TAL), and @Elegance Coral.

@Lasse Even though he has no idea! I enjoy the way he speaks to others along with the clear lessons in his posts. I have learned a lot from him without even having a chance to speak to him directly. Also @HotRocks has also helped my reef along without knowing it, kinda fun to give the thanks that is over due!

Lastly, Brightwell... They are an amazing company and they went above and beyond for me to simply help me get started when I though I was about to bail on the hobby. I seriously can't thank them enough with all the back and forth they have done with me.

Oh I almost forgot David Ramsey has helped me setup all my live food cultures... He has a great mind as well.

Should be behind the cow with a bucket. Just sayin’.
