This Sicce syncra 1.5 is loud compared to my Jebao return blpump right beside it.

Anyone know of a quieter small scale pump. Trying to run my UV with this thing and its the loudest thing on my tank.

I'm here for the replies.

I am currently using an Aqueon AQ1200 as a return pump which I do not have any complaints about, but I have to assume there are quieter pumps out there. I only bought this one as a stop gap because the price was too good to pass up and it fit the hose that was included in my FijiCube AIO kit.

Sicce no doubt

Umm thats what i have

Everyone has a different idea of what "silent" is. If you're like me, any noise is not "silent," but there are actual pumps that are truly silent.

I've tried a bunch, even sicce like the above, and nothing has been more silent than the VarioS.

I am, however going to be trying the Royal Exclusive Red Dragon 3 mini for my next return. Apparently it's also extremely silent.

Juat irritating that i have a Jebao 6500 that is dead silent and i have rhis right next to it and all you hear is this pump. I have a sicce 1.0 on my QT tank and it was quiet until it got dirty.

You're comparing DC and AC. The DC is going to be quiter. However the Sicce will last forever.

Your not gonna get quieter than a sicce Italian made like a Ferrari however not as loud as a Ferrari lol unless Ferrari are making electric cars now

more than likely something is wrong with your sicce
either you are missing a piece that holds the impeller in place or something

I've heard people say their Sicce's are dead quiet, and when I went over to listen myself, it was a noticeable hum that wasn't what I would've said is dead quiet. Now I'm just talking about the AC pumps, not sure about the DC lineup they have.

Overall, YMMV in terms of what one person detects as dead silent.

A better way would be a decibel meter (you can get pretty cheap ones off of amazon for $30 that are decent enough).

I have an SDC 6.0 and an SDC 9.0 I would say both are far from silent but pretty quiet. The 9.0 is in my living room and there is an audible hum on the tank. Dont know what I'll switch to next... maybe red dragon?

That's good info.

My VarioS pumps don't sound like anything. I can't even tell they're on, and like I said, no reading on the decibel meter. If you're looking for a new pump to replace them, i would say the VarioS are definitely a silent option. From what people have told me who have had both VarioS and Red Dragon, the Red Dragon is just as silent but possibly a bit higher quality/longer lasting? That being said, my VarioS pumps have been working just fine with regular maintenance for 5+ years.

not sure what flow rate you require but this lttle thing is silent and cheap. 240ltr per hour should be good for and UV filter

Agreed on the VarioS pumps. I went through many of the usual suspects for silent pumps until I landed on the VarioS. I proritize quiet on my tanks and VarioS is my go to.

I would get a big enough return pump that would run your return and other equipment with a manifold as suggested above. I use vectra pumps which are quite. Are you using internal or external?

I can’t hear my Sicce syncra 2.0 UV pump or my VarioS return pump. Both are quiet to me. I do think the VarioS is the quietest and better pump, but on the longterm I think the Sicce pump my go the distance.
