I just used some to the "Coral Forumla" this morning. I used about a piece the size of a dime. I dissolved it in a cup of tank water and then put it in. That was 9 am this morning now 4:30ish. Tank looks cloudy and crappy still. Anyone else have any experiences with this stuff?

I used the fish food when my Moorish Idol stopped eating. Stuff was great, Idol began eating again and has never stopped since. Had no water quality issues. I cannot recommend this stuff highly enough!

I haven't used the coral one yet so no experience with that one. The regular rods does cloud up the tank for a bit but not 8 hours

no issues, but have only used the regular not the coral blend.

LOVE rods food, best stuff out there combined with PE mysis you cant go wrong.

not sure about the cloudiness though....

I've used it for some time. I use the regular and the coral and never had that happen. FWIW

I have used both kinds and have had no issues of cloudy water ever. It is the best fish and reef food out there IMHO.

so this stuff doesnt contain any phosphates? i heard a lot of frozen food does... :/

I have use Rods food and no issues either
Now Rods will have I think its 2 or 3 diffrent foods for fishes including a type of salt wtaer mysis high on omega 3

We got some that we won from a frag swap. We make our own frozen food. The Rod's Food definitely made the water cloudy. I would rather just use my own homemade frozen food.

Couple of home town boys here! Do you guys feed this stuff on the regular/daily? Or do you alternate your foods like I do?

I feed pellets in the mornings, and alternate frozen foods in the evening, usually Rod's one day and mysis the next.

I've never used rods food, but use roggers reef food. You can google it. It's a local guy that makes it. best food i've ever used in my life. always wanted to try rods food, but people say roggers is better so I never actually tried rods.

We used the predator food before in our FO tank, and personally wasn't the biggest fan. The food seemed really..mushy? And too chopped up. It made our tank look really dirty too...
I dunno about the coral blend though.

Have used Rod's Food for years. I feed both tanks every other day. Have never had any problems and never noticed the water being cloudy. Feeding response and coral growth is always strong. I'm curious about these claims of making water cloudy for extended periods of time. Not sure why that would be. It's potent stuff so you don't want to feed large quantities at any one time. It's, without doubt, the best thing I've ever fed my tanks.

I feed Rod's food daily and have not experienced any cloudiness. I've used the Fish Eggs, the Coral Food, Original Blend and the Herbivore Blend with no issues. As Gary said, don't overfeed it!

maybe you could try rinsing it first? i use it also, and never have a problem.

Rod actually would advise against rinsing as you will wash away some of the goodies he adds to the food. I personally thaw mine in a small measuring cup and then just lighly pour off the melted "whatever it is liquid" before I feed to the tank.

have been using all of rod foods for around 6 months to a year and i think its great stuff. great to mix it with some of the other foods i feed as well.
