Who's the oldest reefer on the forum?

I'm an 18 year old man in a 60 year old body. I've had freshwater since 1960-61 (remember those slate bottom tanks with metal frames), and was sucked into saltwater in 2007.

my first tank didn't have the slate bottom but did have the metal frames.

I just turned 60! My first salt water tank was a 58 Oceanic in 1983. My first reef tank was a 75 in 1999. Currently, I have a 140, a 17 and a 7 gallon tank isiden a Pirate's Chest. :).

A title of a Jimmy Buffett song - "I'm Growing Older, But Not Up." That's me. :)

So it's looking good all us younger folk will survive our encounters with palytoxin to at least make it into our 60' s. Lol

I think we need an old timers forum. [emoji1]

57 with a 18 year old crack head body...lol
Been reefN 25 year's
Introduced the first patented REFUGIM to our hobby at a Las Vegas Aquarium show 1992 I believe.
Fully introduced both 3 and 4 chamber REFUGIUM's, and our hobby's first Back Pack REFUGIUM with skimming first chamber at MACNA X Long Beach.
Left the hobby from 1999 to April 2010 where I have been working on a Custom Build to date:)
I enjoy a killer reef tank for sure but my enjoyment in this hobby is design/building stuff behind the DT curtain:) Some say its a sickness I say its REEFn:)

60. Maintaining saltwater fish since '78, 'reeftanks' since '85 or whenever the heck that FAMA article came out...

66, been reefing since 1971, fresh water since the fiftees

I just assumed Paul B. was the oldest. ;) Seems like I have been reading posts by him since the internet became available to the masses.

38 here, got started in 1989 when I was in high school. I fixed computers for the school and had a teacher ask me to look at a project he would like to do. Turned out, there was a secret room in a building that housed lots of saltwater stuff, several small sharks even. The tanks where just concrete 'tanks' in the ground that stood about 3' above the floor. The project I was asked to do was take an old IBM PS/2 computer, and write software to use a serial pH probe to monitor the pH of the tanks. From that point on I was hooked on saltwater. The high school now has a big aquarium that the public can visit. Cabrillo High School Aquarium

Ace25- that is a cool story.

I've been Reefing since 1990. I am currently 43. The most stable bomb proof tank I had was a 50 gal with half an under gravel plate with a power head. A wet dry, 3' air stone skimmer, live rock and caulurpa (pardon the spelling error). Tank had 3 tangs, a clown and 3 other small fish with a nice bunch of mushroom coral. I never had to clean the glass and would sell $25 worth of plants to the LFS monthly. I miss that stability. LOL.

I believe I'm the oldest female at 55 :) Been reefing almost 6yrs.

I am right behind you Nana as I turn 55 in February. I've had FW since the 60s and got into SW and reefs in the late 90's.

52 here. Salt water since 1980. Fresh water since the 60's.
I keep marine plants and inverterbrates since 1985 in a reverse flow undergravel filter around 1986.
