Just wondering why all the naso tangs that I buy always die whever it be blonde or normal all my other fish make it water parameters are fine the naso tangs sometimes eat, some never do am I just wasting my time, are they hard to acclamate or maybe I just suck at keeping them

I have had the same issues I love nasos some of my fab fish but have never been able to keep one more then a week...

What size tank? Naso tangs need huge tanks.

Gotta feed em lots of Algae Sheets or Romaine Lettuce or Nori Sheets, and Mysis Shrimp and such. No flake food for them. I feed my Tangs everyday.

What size fish are you getting? The really small ones seem to have a hard time adjusting to tank life in my experience.

My blonde nasso is going on twelve years old now. He has been through 5 tank moves.

I find that mine do better with a varied diet. Mine eat pellets, flake, nori, mysis, Rod's food. They are all fat and healthy.

I've only ever had one. About 3.5 inches, had him for 3 months. Fed nori and home grown ulva every other day and he ate well. He was swimming around fine before lights out and had eaten, the next morning I come down and he dead and wedged in my rocks being eaten by my cuc. No symptoms that I saw and the other fish in the tank were and still are fine (this happened about a week ago). Checked a parameters and everything is good. No idea what happened.

Same here they eat fine look fine in fact one I had was in the tank for 3 months had to go away for one night for work came back and he was dead

I have had my Naso 3 years. I got her from another reefer for $50. she is about 7-8" long and a wonderful fish. she eats anything I put in the tank. Most ly her diet is Nori and Flakes. I did go a period where I didnt feed her any nori for like a month or two. she never missed a lick, but at the end, did get a bit skinny, now on a daily nori diet, she is SUPER FAT and happy along with my other tangs. she is kept in my 180 reef with a Hippo, Powder Brown and atlantic blue. She has been hand fed since I got her. her diet currently consists of everything in the freezer ; squid, mysis, Rods food, Rotifers, Cyclopeze, Bloodworms and jsut about anything else that hits the water. she does love her flake food too. I ONLY feed OCEAN NUTRITION formula 2 flakes. these seem to to the best job of keeping the color in all my fish when i dont want to deal with the frozen. the only reason i am feeing as much frozen these days as I do is because I have a CBB that I want to keep fed. Funny, ive had him close to a month and he is still very plump, but ive never seen him eat.
