Why does my coral keep closing and opening?

I got a new coral yesterday for my LFS. I dipped it for 8 min with coral revive. It has been in my tank for about a day now and it has been opening and closing every 15 minutes or so. Do you think it is because there is too much light? Also it has been blown up like a balloon. Here is a before and after top of when it opens an and closes. My lights are at 59% blue and 15% white. I have the Red Sea 90 lights.

Just leave it alone and let it settle in to its new surroundings.

Do you think there is too much light where it is at?

Edit: unless you know the PAR it was under at the LFS and the PAR at different depths in your tank, the general rule of thumb is to either start new corals lower in the tank and slowly move higher, or to use an acclimation mode on your lights (if there is one).

If you're really worried, move it lower in the tank, but then, leave it alone.

Idk what the par is in my tank. Do you think I should move it to the sand bed? Or should I leave it and see how it does over the next few days.

I think I will see how it does over the next 3 days and if it still does it look great I will move to the sand

Idk if you saw my other post but it is also blown up like a balloon. What is wrong with it. And it all of. A sudden just closed up and it will open probably in like 5 min

Yes, I saw your other posts. I've given you my ideas already. Either move it lower and leave it alone, or just leave it alone, lol. If your fish are bothering it, it will likely stay closed for longer. It probably was in the ocean mere weeks ago and has been in several tanks since then. It just needs time to adjust.

Ok so if this was your coral would you leave it or move it to the sand?

I would know the PAR from the LFS and the PAR in my tank and proceed accordingly. I can't make this decision for you.

How do I measure the par. I don’t want to spend money on a par meter thing. Do you know what type of lighting this corals liek? Hight low?

Mine prefer low light medium high flow.
In the future look up lighting and flow requirements prior to purchase.

My friend, you need the right tools for the job. I'm not going to Google the lighting requirements for your corals... I have confidence you are capable of doing that research yourself.
