Did you dip them yet?

I had an issue with a couple euphyllias last year, looks similar circumstance,
(NOT saying this is it, but a dip may help).

There was this white worm like creature burrowing & living in the branches, it would kill the heads, individually.
When i went to cut off the dead and dying heads / branches is how I found it. It scurried back into the colony.

I dipped them with bayer until i got them, I did end up tearing apart a branching hammer pretty bad, but it's not in my tank anymore.

Almost elucid worm looking like, bit stringy - er.

I will look up the scientific name\Common name for those in one of my ID books. But some of those worms have an enzyme that they release so they can bore through the calcium skeleton to get at the soft tissue from the underside. Dipping them is a good option as well as a precaution. These worms are really rare but it can happen.

OP I would recommend also cutting off the dead branches as well as the tissue will not grow back on the branching kinds like yours anyway. If you leave them it is more spots for algae to grow on. The main colony will sprout new heads off the base anyways so no worry.

When troubleshooting I like to rule out what it isn't so you cut down on your list of possible suspects.

I ended up clipping the dead heads and putting some of the heads into a seperate lower flow area they seem to be doing better but can someone tell me what this is?

It's like a little horn on the base of the frogspawn

That is a form of tube worm. Some people don't like them as they put out a mucus molecular net to capture particulate matter from the water so they can pull it back in to eat it. In great density some people report causing problems with SPS. I myself have not had issues with them. They are related to feather dusters.
