Since it disappeared so quick, possibly a sting or irritation of some sort?

Thank you, yes I have tried all reef2reef but nothing that describes similar 'bubble', I have seen one video on you noob where like an air pocket under skin of mandarin, I have an old marine encloypedia in my loft from my grandad, maybe I'll look into that, really appreciate everyone's help

mandarins don't really eat anything but pods and microfauna

My aquarium was full of copepods, I only have two clowns and two firefish, loadsa snails and hermits.
I feed Artemis and copepods (live)
I try blood worms but she just pecks at copepods

how long have you had the mandarin? maybe constipation that got cleared or eggs that were being reabsorbed?
