I added some more live sand to aquarium and the water is cloudy... will it hurt fish and affect anything else? 1month old tank with no coral and only 2 clowns, fox and a shrimp

Should be fine, how large is your tank?

Most sand does cloud up your system unless you rinse it well beforehand but you can't really rinse live sand so there is no option there.

And at 1-month old do not add corals lol your tank is still far too young.

It's a 525xl and yes of course wasn't planning to without seeing coraline growth :D

The addition of the sand might trigger a mini cycle, and will stop up your filter socks for a day or two, but other than that, everything should be fine.

What do you mean by stop up? Should I vaccum the sand bed?

He means clog the filter socks. Remove the filter socks until tomorrow when the water is clear again.

Ah alright! Thank you for the clarification:)

No problem.

Also remove the filter socks when you clean your sandbed or blow off your LR. Again, you want the debris to miss the socks. If you leave the socks in, keep an eye on them and if they start to clog just hank them out and replace them with fresh ones.

Will prodibio work fine?

I believe so. I know they have some for new tanks and cycles, but I have never used it personally so the exact kind or how well it works I wouldn't be able to answer.

Good thing I'm not running filter socks!

Alright! Currently I have the prodibio start up which starts up new tanks :) the one they recommended on brs/wwc

I only have 11 vials though, it says I need 30 for how many gallons I have... would I need the full dose?

Well add them and test for ammonia for the next couple days. You can always do a water change if you detect ammonia.

What size tank do you have; just curious.
