Yup, I've had frags in my frag tank that came from my colony in my display. The display ones are much bigger and darker, while the frag tank ones have stayed smaller and a lighter purple.

They both are purple deaths. The ones that are lighter are being exposed to excessive light, unless you wanted them lighter then you can leave them there.
