Would these lights LEDS be okay for Coral keeping

Hey yall, thinking about getting these full spectrum lights, would they work for Coral keeping?
i plan on keeping coral in the future, and may buy the lighting i need now so i have it..

My guess is you'll be very disappointed with those lights. Unfortunately there's not a ton of information there like what kinde of LEDs, how many watts per LED etc.. But even the name brand lights that look similar (like Fluval) that cost $150.00+ aren't that great for coral.

I do not think they will work. There is not enogh watts in mt opinion

Definitely not, if on a budget black box leds will work, but wont offer the same controllability usually.

Look for the number of led's and how many watts the whole unit consumes, divide the watt's by the led's to find out if its using 3w leds.

those led's are only 1 watt per LED.....To successfully keep coral you need at least 3 watt LED's

Try reefbreeders.....they are cheapish and effective

Your gonna want around 150w for every average size fixture. What size is your tank? The cheapest route I've seen and still get good results is the sb basic 165 from http://sbreeflights.com.

I was able to find more info on the lights you posted and it looks like if I'm reading correct those are less than 1w each.. You're looking for more in the 3w range.

I started using current orbit marine LEDs and they work well with LPS and softies but when I started more SPS they were not that efficient. So I moved on and kept that in store. My first question will be how much is your budget and why you want LED? You can use T5 too. Average 3w/gallon people recommend but LED penetration power is better so a little less will do.

Quick question, im originally from ireland so im not sure what yall call these here in America, but im looking to maybe buy light fittings i use to use for my reptile UV light, and maybe add a T5 Coral light bulb to it and build a compact compartment for it to sit in so itll shine down through the glass lid i got..

is this the light fittings that go into each side of the long light bulbs? like a T5 then plugs into the wall?? if not what do yall call them (Sorry what a dumb question but i wanna be able to google these etc)

My cousin put a reef breeders 48" photon on his 5' 155 and it's a nice light. $500 covered the entire tank with one fixture.

I just saw you are stay in NC, may I ask where? If you have budget then buy Prime HD (costly but great) or you can buy a T5 tube fixtures from amazon (Can range between anything). But it depends all on your choice. If you are local to NC then I can give you link to a local forum and you can get deals on different stuffs.
