Spot feed, but don’t let the food sit in mouth. Unless your tank flow is strong.

I do once a week during water changes. I put a pinch in some water and suck it up in a plastic syringe. It's mostly cloudy water and I spray it on the zoa colonies I want to grow faster. I think the polyps I feed look more plump and have better colors the next day or two after feeding. If it was practical to feed more often I would.

Feed Away!

I've noticed this before. I will add reef roids to the very top of the zoas and the foot will just sit there. The flow has a hard time removing it and afterwards the zoa is closed up for a bit. Does this somehow damage the coral? When you feed, are you just blowing the powder on them like a mist and then thats it?

broadcast it corals grow like crazy

some of my zoas/palys will eat stuff right up, others not so much. I have a mini colony of what I think are Gobstoppers that regularly catch full sized mysis shrimp and suck it in like spaghetti, I don't even know how it manages that since I keep the wave pumps on as I feed...

Ok I was just doing pinches of reef roids into the water, then I saw some guy on youtube use a syringe and inject the reef roids (as a thicker substance) directly onto corals to try to reduce waste and phosphate increase. Like I said, I tried it and it was really just the zoas that reacted this way, and only some. Or course its hard to tell what kind I have and why those seem to freak out at the food but other zoas I have will close up and reopen quickly when the food gone.

I have been told both yes and no when I ask whether I should spot feed Reef-Roids to my Zoas. What is the right answer?
If I had zoas, I'd broadcast feed, special fish feeder FOR powder foods. I do have sun polyp corals, breeding almost like rabbits. Feeding this method.

I definitely spot feed my zoa colonies I want to grow faster once a week with everything else. They close up on it and open up when they are done taking it in. Haven't seen any issues, seem to see improved color the next few days and I'm getting great growth.

My corals love Reef Roids! Honestly, my acans were really really slow growing. Started feeding them 4 weeks ago, and I’ve already got 5 new heads growing!

I started feeding 4 weeks ago. My acans were ridiculously slow growing (head every 6 months if that!)
Now..... I feed them reef roids x2 week. And I was Amazed with the results! I’ve already got another new 5 heads and the colours on them have just popped!

I mostly spot feed a less than paste like consistency to my zoas and lps and when I’m consistent I definitely think I’ve noticed faster growth in the zoas. The lps just grow slow for me in general.

Mine close up as soon as it hits and devour it
