Would You Recommend this RO/DI System ???

I call my water company every year asking if they use chloramines and if not if they have plans to with in the next year. Answers I get each year is No and not at this time.

I would assume they would send some kind if notification out if they did decide to switch and I also assume I will never see that notification and won't ever know unless I ask again the next year.

It's easy to test for with a free and total chlorine kit. If there's a different value between the two it's likely because of chloramines. I also assume I won't be doing this test regularly or at all. But it is a viable option to do and done periodically.

Water quality just can change so quickly and with out warning I'd rather do what I can system setup and maintenance wise and to minimize worrying about it. Water quality shifts may not happen a lot (some places more then others) but that's what insurance is all about and that's how I look at my RODI system.

Chloramines are really the least of my worries. If I remember right if you use Spectrapure membranes they can handle a lot of chloramines with out major damage to them unlike chlorine. You'll just see your DI get exhausted quickly. Other membranes about the same possibly.

I think if you can afford a 6 stage RODI then get it. You never know in the future your city may move to chloramines plus going through 2 carbon and di just assures you have the purest water. I wanted to like Spectrapure but their shipping is outrageous and it killed the deal for me when looking for a new one. It would have been 26.xx to ship! BRS has some great replacement cartridges and free shipping. In fact, I didn't buy my RODI unit from BRS but I have replaced all my membranes and carbon, sediment, and di with BRS and they perform great. I tried many other brands first before giving BRS a try.

No need to call the water company as most put their reports online for free. Whoever you trust or decide to go with I would show them the report and ask for a recommendation. RODI performance is based on what's in your water.

Yes, many do put up reports. Mine is up...its current online report is the 2015 annual report that covers tests done in 2012-2014... HA! Not very helpful or up to date.
