So I ordered a frag of "green monsters" from myfrags on eBay. After shipping it to the wrong address, he resent another frag with freebies, they were held over an extra day at FedEx for some reason. I've had them in the tank over night and they just look bad. Do they look alive? Or should I get a refund?

Firstly can he get an explanation on what happened the second time he shipped? The first time was it his mistake?

Personally I would wait it out one new day. Zoos are extremely resilient and a day closed doesn't mean the end.

May still survive, don't see any tissue necrosis.Keep the vendor posted with pics of progress, or lack of progress and see what happens. If the courior has a depot close to you,do a hold for pickup and get a tracking # in the future.I had a courior decide to take off early and hold on to my zoas for one more day with bad results.

When you say it was held over, was that at the FedEx on Cantu Crt? Because of a failed delivery attempt? IF so, maybe the door tag was blown off. I have dealt with "my frags" on ebay and also on their website, with no problems. Past experience has taught me to follow tracking number. Check your tracking, and see where the package was at, and at what time. I certainly would want some answers from FedEx. Atleast we don't have to deal with DHL.

When i order i choose local pickup from Fedex. That way i know when they arrive and i can pick them up quickly. Personally i would not buy off ebay there are lots of great vendors here that will sell you healthy corals.

The first time was completely his fualt. They were shipped with dry goods to a different address. He gave me some freebies for that. Second time they sat in his drop off location overnight before shipping. I've been sending pics every chance I get, without many responses except him saying they're nice closed polyps. Even the freebies look bad.

are they soft or firm? I have had them just sit there for 3 or 4 days. Give them a chance, low light, low flow. IF they are not mush, and show no white spots they should be ok. They certainly be stubborn. JME

They're soft. I have around 20 different zoas/palys, never seen them look this bad. I've had deepwater zoas stay closed for weeks, but not palys.

Get a refund. If they survive great, if not, you'll be angry at him and yourself. The fact that you posted this means that in your subconscious you want a refund, they're not looking so good. At the very least I'd contact the seller with photo proof to see if he will let you attempt to Save them.

tough crowd LOL as mentioned above I'd see why FedEx held them overnight. If its not the seller's fault then why should he refund? Why did they sit at his drop off? I've had zoas stressed for weeks when shipped and not open; I've had some open the minute they hit water. Again as mentioned I'd document the zoas as they are, check with the seller's refund policy but personally I'd give them a good dip, put them someone low in the tank and give them time. Not sure how much you paid but to ship back would be $$$ also.

Thanks for the advice guy's. I'm going to send some more pics to him through out the night to show there's been no progress. Hopefully he will cooperate with me on the refund. I should have just went with Rich, but live n learn.

+2. Again, I don't think any dealer will guarantee that zoas will be open upon receiving them but if I'm going to shell out $$$$ for some nice zoas, I will look for either a local dealer where I can see them in person, or a R2R dealer and then still look at their history. I hope it works out well for you!

Not saying they aren't a good company, just bad luck. If they didn't mess up the first shipment, I probably wouldn't be here looking for advice. I'll give them a few days and keep him updated with pics.

Get a refund those are done once they close up completely like that they're dead that really sucks

What happen to myfrags? They are sponsors on here no?

Not all are cloaked with protection like you;)

I would make sure you communicate with my frags. Not sure why a thread was created as zoas can be weird sometimes anyway. BUT keep us updated! Good luck.

Most vendors do not offer live arrival guarantee if the package is delayed by FedEx. Most will consider that as part of the risk in shipping live coral. Im not sure if thats the case with the shipper but its something you might want to look into.
Did you dip the coral when it arrived?
