Wrasse with injured tailfin

I’m not sure what you mean - do you have a Link’s goby? They are peaceful, I don’t see that as being a problem.

According the fish store (who i also trust, because they are a well known & respected store in my country) a Amblygobius Linki is semi-aggresive & not always peacefull.
It's a rare phenomenon but it could happen that they become aggressive towards a wrasse because they are in same living area. They could also become aggressive towards their own species.
My fish store now suggests a different species of wrasse that should be a better combo with the linki (when the time is right).

Well, I don't agree that this species is aggressive enough towards other fish to cause that tail damage, but more importantly, that tail damage did not seem severe enough to cause the fish to die. As I alluded to, I think there was some underlying factor involved here.

The tail fin was getting worse by the day tho, the picture you saw was day 2, on day 3 i found him against the overflow with more tail damage, day 4 he was missing, day 5 i found him dead between the rock.

Sadly i cannot give you more info than this.
The only thing i know right now is that all my other fish are fine.

Are there certain disease that could attack a fish's tailfin? you or somoene mentioned it could be something neurological aswell?
Could it be that the fish took damage from certain wavemakers at night?
i'm just throwing guesses right now, because i simply don't know either.

Sometimes, fin damage can translate to a secondary bacterial infection. More often though, when a fish shows general weakness, and gets caught be water pumps, there is some systemic disease at work. My concern is just that condition could be contagious to other fish.

Well, the only thing i can do right now is monitor my other fish i guess.
