Wrasses eye popped out

exactly. They also had me remove flags from US Navy Seal costumes and Astronaut costumes (Astronaut I guess is OK, but still).

They didn't buy the costumes in the end, but it was enough for me to not go into the stores.

and thank you, I hope my wrasse will be OK too

I have never been in one.
As for the fish, pop eye is very easy to fix in a few minutes, but i think that eye is to far gone. You can move it back where it is supposed to be. but I doubt he will see out of it. Sorry.

not that it is the same in any regards to serving in the military, and i too loath walmart.... but why you gotta hate on NASA's Heros  ! Spaceflight is not glamorous...or safe.... (see apollo waste management "apollo bags": https://history.nasa.gov/SP-368/s6ch2.htm)

OP, hope your wrasse is doing better

Speaking as someone who has served for this country I can see the irony in that. Especially as 95% of what they sell is not made in America.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country.

I noticed after I saw this thread that I have a bleeny with the same condition. I don't see him much but he is a fish I can't catch so he will have to deal with it on his own.

@MarsRover I didn't mean to sound like I am dissing astronauts! I just don't see them the same as military and our troops. I do have respect for them too :)

@Humblefish - thank you! I will get the epsom salt this afternoon and dose tonight. My poor fish.

@Paul B - Oh no! I hope it clears up for your blenny fast!

OK I dosed the Epsom salt.
@Humblefish
if this does the trick, when can I expect to see a change? And when do I do a second dose if needed? water change before doing second dose?

CHECK AMMONIA and NITRITE!!!! Happened to me when I started out. Dose prime in case of emergency. Good luck!

I have a wrasse that has the same issue, has been like that for over a month, has gone down some, but still not normal. I figured he got it from an injury because of the way he acts now, stays out of the way of the other fish and in the background where as before the injury he was mostly out front. no way I could catch him so I just tried to make sure he was getting good diet so maybe his own immune system could fight it off if bacterial. he catches food so hopefully he hasn't lost site in it. I haven't tried the epsom salts. good luck with your treatment, it make you feel bad to see them that way just seems like it would cause one heck of a headache

You can do a second dose 48 hrs after the first (no water change needed).

If you aren't seeing any change 24 hrs after the second dose, I would say Epsom salt isn't going to help with this.

My female maroon had popeye once and after talking to a friend who owns a local fish store, he told me to simply target feed her and make sure she was eating really good. He also said to do a few water changes in a week and make sure the tank is clean. He said in time you should see her improve. I followed the directions and did what he said and thus she healed very fast and no scarring. That happened 3 years ago. She is currently tending to a patch of eggs she laid last week and doing nicely.

good luck to you and your fish

If the eye pops out to much the optic nerve gets stretched and the eye loses it's blood flow and the eye dies. It looks like that happened in that fish but it's hard to tell with the bacterial infection he has going on there. If the eye dies, it will scar over and the fish can still live a long happy life as they don't seem to mind the loss of one eye because they get most of their information from their lateral line. But they look horrible and it's hard to get them to wear an eye patch.

I hope it clears up and if it does, he will look perfect. :p

I don't mind the loss of an eye either.. it's sad, but as long as she lives, I am happy. She's a fighter, I can tell, lol.
Fish can live happy lives without an eye as any animals. (and she'll be a conversation piece too, lol)

thank you Humblefish, appreciated!!

I had a Labouti wrasse that had pop eye. The other wrasses fixed it by pecking it off him... I caught and isolated him for a day before he jumped back into the main tank on his own. He recovered but was at the bottom of the fairy wrasse order.

I haven't seen my wrasse all day today.
My other wrasse, whom was being bullied by her, is out and about.

I am thinking she perished :( RIP my beautiful flame wrasse
