Hi good morning!
I bought a return pump dual nozzle and it’s too big for my tank. I have a 25g WB penninsula. And the one I bought has a 3/4 inch diameter. I hope I’m measuring right! The diameter is smaller on the current one being used shown in picture. Can someone guide me on how I can modify this??

Need to convert from metric to standard. WB is metric so it won’t take that 3/4.

I think VCA sells printed bushings. I needed them when I put RFG nozzles on mine.

Thank for the mention @Beau_B and the tag @shakacuz

We can help with this - we make a number of adapters and fitting that can convert that tank to a dual or single Random Flow Generator

First you'll need our 16mm to 1/2in modular hose converter - it will make the end of the stock fitting compatible with 1/2in loc-Line

Then to add the dual RFG nozzle setup you can add our Ultimate Nano Tank Return Line Upgrade kit

The other option you have, is to convert the outlet to a single 1/2in RFG nozzle. In that case, we have an kit that includes the 16.5mm adapter

both of these are available directly form our website, but are also available on most major online retailers and possible your local fish stores

If you have nay additional questions just let me know.

Thank you so much for all of this. I have to say, and I’m a little embarrassed lol, but you may have to dummy this down for me! Seems like the waterbox flow kit would work for me, but I don’t need the actual RFG, since I have a nozzle already. I just need the adaptors. But I wouldn’t know where to start on measuring what?! Sorry this is not my forte. I appreciate all the help I can get

I would go to your local ACE Hardware, look through the ABS, CPVC, PVC pipe and fittings. Also they have Hardware assortment drawers, look at the Plastic and Nylon bushings.

I think the issue is you have a new 3/4”piece that won’t go on the existing 16.5mm plumbing.

Is there a chance you could exchange your new splitter for 1/2”? If so, all you would need is the 16.5mm to 1/2” bushing.

I think this is the issue! I have no idea where to get a new splitter. The splitter does have another piece, don’t know names of these. See pic, and the piece has to be a male to loc into the existing equipment

Admittedly I am a little bias, but I think EVERYONE needs an RFG

with that said, i don't think you are going to be able to adapter what you have to fit your Watebox tank - at least not with their stock plumbing.

As nice as it is that the back panel and baffles int he sump area are glass, that's actually one of the main issues with modifying this tank. Because it's glass you can't really change its configuration. So, you have work with what you got.

Our 16.5mm to 1/2in Loc-Line adapter easiest way to do that. Keep in mind though, that our adapters are designed to work with genuine Loc-Line brand modular hose.

If you popped the Nozzle off of the Fitting that came with the Aquarium, could you slide a couple “O” Rings over the Threaded fitting, then slide your 3/4” over the “O” Rings and Fitting? Then thread the fitting into the Elbow? BTW wouldn’t try and put the 3/4” over the Smaller Threaded Fitting while it’s on the tank. Wait till you have it together, so you won’t crack the glass.

Thanks so much for your help and after some research I think I le the RFG better for my tank. So just to be completely sure. This will fit my WB 25g penninsula. I know it says it on the link but I’m just confirming. If so I’ll order later today! Thanks!

If you want dual nozzles... you need:

16.5mm Modular Hose to 1/2in Loc-Line Adapter

and:

Ultimate Nano Tank Return Line Upgrade Kit – 1/2in to 1/4in RFG

and a bit of genuine 1/2" locline.

This set up will run on lower flow than the single 1/2" nozzle.
That's correct - except you wont need any extra Loc-Line. The kit comes it

And you are also correct - the singled 1//2in will have higher through put than the dual 1/4in.

We like to suggest that if you have a return pump capable of 280 GPH or more, then go the single 1/2in kit

if it's less tan 300 GPP, then go with the Ultimate Nano Tank Return line Kit with the dual 1/4in RFGs

if the pump is somewhere in the middle then you can go either way.
