WWC After Party with some green tips, do they exist?

@BigJohnny So If I'm understanding correctly the concern you are voicing is the coloration at the tip of this coral, is this correct? It seems as though this is turning into a WWC credibility thread. This coral, as stated above is extremely fickle and it's colors for us resemble a mood ring for various reasons. The larger piece we posted in the 900 broodstock thread did lose its yellow tips on the leading edges when we changed our display over to radions from 20k radiums. However, on the crown of the coral the tips remain. We have opted to keep the coral in its place despite the mild transformation because it is growing well, and after all, thats what we are trying to do is grow them right? We decided to move a few pieces to other systems and other places within the same tank to try to get that desired contrast back. Now maybe you have purchased this coral and are sour you have not been able to replicate what you have seen in pictures, or you have interest in homing one at some point and want to make sure it's a wise purchase, I don't know, but unfortunately your "quest for the absolute truth" is seemingly at the expense of WWC. The debate of yellow vs green will go on forever, every person sees a color differently, I see it every day with our customers, our friends, and amongst staff. When editing a photo the outcome is a result of one person's opinion of what they see, and will try to translate that to a vast audience, with many different screen resolutions. Never will we unanimously agree a photo is accurate to the eye, which is why we "try" daylight vs actinic, which is again another argument, that it's not daylight enough. If you were saying above that these images were not the same coral I can assure you that it is, and if need be can try to give you another perspective to help understand. This one frag was cut and glued by yours truly. This coral is a stunner if you make it happy I think it's best to leave it at that, and we will do our best to keep you posted when we find out 100 percent what it takes. For now it seems as though with radions it needs less light than what it has been subjected to. Enjoy these fascinating animals and their adaptability this is what makes this hobby so different and intriguing than so many others.

So, I must ask, why WWC doesn’t update this corals picture to something we are much more likely to see in our tanks?

I’d be ticked OFF to have paid that kind of money WWC asks and wound up with what the updated pictures show.

What seems legit?

I'm saying the green growth tips are very plausible. For instance this is a crappy photo and not even the same coral but if you look closely you'll see the the base of the coral is red with yellow tips and the new growth is sort of an opaque purple with green tips. When an acro is really happy and is experiencing that super growth phase you will often see that. When it's unhappy or growing normally you won't always get the same result. I tried to find the article I read some time back that better explained this (I think it was Sanjay or Mike Paletta) but I lost the desire after a couple of searches.

my concern is that the occasional bright green tips on the release photo (which in my opinion elevate the coral above all yellow dominant acros like RR pink Floyd and TCK pikachu) have not been sustained or replicated anywhere since that photo, including your tanks. I was about to buy a frag and started the thread to see if anyone was able to do so. It's a personal concern, I'm not questioning the validity of the photo.

certainly was not my intention, in fact I defended you when someone else attacked your credibility.

I was talking about the occasional green tips not the dominant yellow.

I think this went sideways real fast...........I just asked if anyone has replicated the occasional green tips instead of all yellow, pretty straightforward. You provided an explanation which didn't match up with what I was asking, so I clarified hoping you would better understand what I was asking.

The debate of yellow vs green will go on forever, every person sees a color differently, I see it every day with our customers, our friends, and amongst staff. this wasn't about the difference between yellow and green. It was about having two different colored tips, regardless of how you perceive the colors, the release photo has two very distinct colored tips, and the bright neon green (or whatever color you wish to call it) are not present in any other photos of your colonies, or anyone else's for that matter. I was also comparing actinic to actinic so no daylight vs actinic at play.

If you were saying above that these images were not the same coral I can assure you that it is, and if need be can try to give you another perspective to help understand.
definitely not what I was saying. I asked what happened/where are the green tips, I assumed it was the same colony and that's why I was confused when I saw the updated shot.

I wish you would have just led with this lol....I wasn't attacking you (others were) but boy did you fire back at me!

I gotta say I almost got pretty heated over that response. It's like a $500 coral I think I deserve to ask some questions about missing colors when those colors are in fact the reason why many people would be willing to spend that much. But hey, I get it man. Your livelihood so it's important, others were in fact calling it photoshop, you can't hear my tone (oh the joys of text), all good reasons.

Let me just say that you guys are one of my favorite vendors and I trust you guys very much. I think this was just a misunderstanding.

Anything is plausible my friend, never said it wasnt

I seen the thread you mentioned where the Pink Floyd was grown out beside the after party and it does look exactly the same.

Like 10+ corals looks exactly the same as the pink floyd -- These are just the three I've seen in person: Diabolic pacman, Pikachu (2 variants), WWC After Party

They are different corals (at least Pacman and Pink Floyd) because a local guy grew them out side by side on a huge frag disk.. One clearly grew faster than the other, but they were identical.

Bump this thread. Anyone else have these 2 growing out side x side? RR Pink Floyd and WWC After Party. Have we come to the conclusion these are likely the same coral?

Not trying to raise blood pressures here, just would like to know if guys have these 2 side x side and their experiences with growing them. Thanks

Here's is the reply I got from WWC in a PM asking if they were the same.

"It isn't the same as the Pink Floyd. It has a different growth rate and slightly different coloration.

We received this coral over 3 years ago so it is possible that it came from a similar coral farm in Indonesia. Either way you can't go wrong!"

The only difference I see in my opinion is the price. One is higher than the other, so buy the cheap one and called it the expensive one, no one will ever tell the difference.
Oh one more thing, growth factor cannot be determined as the difference, remember not all tanks are the same.
