Yellow tang needs help

So i need the help i just got this tang from petco and hes in my QT hes not eating can some one advice where i should start just trying to save the poor guy

I would try to introduce garlic infused nori ASAP! He’s in really bad shape and if he doesn’t start eating right away and boost his immune system he will die pretty soon.

Feed twice a day with high quality foods and nori. Only check on him at feeding times, keep everything as stress free as possible and his water quality pristine and hope for the best. Good luck, I hope he makes it.

you have nori floating around or on a clip?.... to the pros, would Phytoplankton in the water column provide nourishment?

I would also add a live rock from my refugium with the most algae on it, Give him something he would naturally graze on in the wild.

i have tryed red seaweed with garlic wont touch it ???

i have rock but its in my reef and has coral on it

so sad to see fish in my petco there have 3 died fish in there sys when i got there all the sys had no flow pumps turn off its just wrong

yeah I wish they would get out of the saltwater business.

How long has the QT been up and running for? Are you treating any medications in this QT? Did you FWD the fish prior to entering the QT? What are the water parameters?

QT been running about a month and all the parameters are at 0 no i have not FWD the fish and no meds the fish is very weak and a FWD will kill it for sure

yesterday from petco i need to build him up first just getting him to eat sucks

Agreed. Keep water conditions perfect and keep a close eye on him at this point. You did a really nice thing saving him
