The only time I have for tank maintenance and upgrades other than feeding the fish and scraping the glass is late at night after the wife and kids go to bed. So I've been staying up to work on my tank upgrade and basement renovations for a fish room almost every night from 11PM to 1AM or so for the last 4 months. Upgrading to a large 125 gallon basement sump has inspired me to install a couple of french drains, and finally clean up my basement just so I can have my sump room. I feel like I've wasted a day any time I go to bed without having worked on the tank.

When something terrible happens like in my case when your home AC quits when you are out of town, you stand in front of a nuked tank, crying and cursing off the hobby, saying your are done for good ! 20mins later, you are planning out the new setup on grid paper.

How about when you make up an excuse for being a couple hours late to work so you can go to the UPS office and pick up your corals and get them home to acclimate! People just don’t understand

Go bigger and better!!! We are in the middle of upgrading so we moved the nano from downstairs to upstairs...it was a nightmare. I spilled 3 gallons of water in my bedroom and had shoes floating it was crazy but done and over with. Now to statt downstairs on the 150
