The past few days I’ve been thinking about just pulling the trigger on an Apex and getting it over with. I don’t need one but I do miss having one and I’d eventually like a Trident. Also thought about a time a customer came in looking for a halide bulb and I ended up selling him an $800 lighting setup.

What has been your most extreme impulse purchase and are you glad you did it?

Due to the bolded part, your purchase would hardly qualify as an impulse purchase! ;)

I own an Apex (EL) and have thought about the Trident, but decided against it due to cost. If I had a several aquarium system set up I may reconsider, but it seems they turn out to be quite expensive due to the recurring costs.

No impulse buys here. I want everything already and plan accordingly so it’s not an impulse. I just don’t tell my wife and let her impulse buy because she loves watching the new coral and fish in the tank. If I had to saying anything was an impulse buy I would say my Radions though.

My impulse purchase was setting up a new tank over one summer in high school. I worked a minimum wage job and made no money that summer lol. Set up the entire thing in one day

Hm... The most impulse purchase I've made for my 30 gallon was a Pintail Wrasse. It looked small at the store, but it was WAY to big for my 30 long. Absolute stunner

Does this qualify?
Only if you’re catching fish with that;). Visited Cape Cod for the first time last summer (2019) and saw the boats stacked like that. I thought it was so fascinating watching them take the boats down and put them in the water. Random thought but the picture made me think of it

I actually just built a stand to match my Red Sea stand. My new apex and trident is in there. That’s my big purchase.

Check out my build thread, go get yourself that apex and trident.
