Your most extreme impulse purchase

Been in the hobby too long. I can walk into a huge lfs and walk out with a new filter sock and some fish food. And this is the type of lfs which carries high end gear like apex, etc..

It is the same old stuff year after year pretty much. Even the live stock is the same fish and coral.

In the past this would have been impossible to resist. Now I am like eh...

So impulse purchases are long gone. I can't even remember. Buy quality. Buy once.

Apex for sure. Ordered it. Set in the box sealed for over a year. You see I have no idea how to set one up. Husband finally did it. Then there was the large, open box, skiimz algae reactor from BRS. And non fishy things, recently bought several foundary concrete molds. Going to make some benches and tables this summer!

I picked up 2 Insanity frags this weekend and I don't even regret it lol

Bought a leopard wrasse on black friday at a lfs and after getting it home, I looked it up and saw most sites had it as expert only ( because they are difficult to feed) thankfully for me I had a mature enough tank and enough of a sand bed to handle it. I was freaked out when it disappeared for 30 hours In The sand bed for 30 hours (found out that was normal). So far it is doing well, eating robustly and a ham in the tank. So I guess the impulse turned out well so far. But, I am far from an “expert” so it could blow up I’m my face at any time.

Love the leopard wrasse! Such a neat fish. I’ve successfully kept a few variants but was never brave enough to try the Choatis. Best of luck with your leopard wrasse!
